The 2000 Ford Mustang is part of a long line of pony cars that have remained the best selling cars of their class since the original was produced way back in 1964. All GTs come with 17 inch wheels, full power accessories, more cloth fabric options or full leather upholstery, hood scoops, body accents, and interior style accents as well.
Under the hood of a 2000 Ford Mustang there a few different engines buyers may choose from. On the smaller end there is a 4.0 liter V6 engine that powers the non-GT packages. Standard for these engines is a 5 speed manual transmission, for a little bit more money there is a 5 speed automatic offered as well. All GT models come equipped with a 4.6 liter V8 engine that puts out up to 300 horsepower and 320 pound feet of torque. Again there is both a 5 speed manual and automatic transmission, with the manual still offered as standard on all GT models. For optimal fuel efficiency and control over the vehicle it is highly recommended that if possible owners choose a manual transmission.
